How to support the Green New Deal.

Since 1000 Volunteers from sunrisemovement.org flooded Congress Monday, 13 NEW Representatives have backed the Select Committee on a Green New Deal. We have incredible momentum, but we also have just two more days before Congress closes for the year to #SealTheDeal.

We know that showing up at Representatives’ offices is the single most effective tool we have to shift them.

To win, we need as many of us as possible to visit our Representatives’ offices today, tomorrow, or Friday. You can do it on your own, on your lunch break, or after school. You don’t need an appointment. When we’re fighting for life as we know it, we can’t wait for appointments.

Here are the steps:

0. Fill out this simple form to let us know you’ll be visiting your Rep

1. Print this sign. If you can’t print, write it with marker.

2. Find your Reps’ office. You don’t need an appointment. You just gotta show up. Bring some friends if you want.

3. Go to the office and ask to speak to the Representative. They probably won’t be there, but that’s ok. Try to talk to a staff member involved in policy and get them to commit to 6 ‘Magic’ Words: Support a Select Committee on a Green New Deal. ‘Select Committee’ or ‘Green New Deal’ alone are too vague for us to hold them accountable.

4. Take a selfie with your sign and post it on social media with #SealTheDeal

5. Once you’re done, fill out this form to tell us how it went.

You got this. I believe in you. I believe in us.

Clear eyes, full hearts, Green Jobs, can’t lose,

Victoria

P.S. Let us know how your visit went by filling out this form.
