Janet, back in the better days

She is still among us. The perpetual waiting is very hard on me. Hopefully not on her. No response from her for a while, but every response in the last week has been, “I am OK. Don’t worry.”

Thanks for all of the prayers, support, etc. My advice, live you lives richly and fully and really love your loved ones while you have them. Not very deep or profound, but strongly felt.

  1. Dear Dave, Thank you for this wonderful photo of your beautiful Janet. Sharing it with the crew & boaters along with your story. Janet & Dave you are such an inspiration to us all.
“One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: that word is LOVE”.
Love and prayers to to Janet and Dave,
    Millie

  2. from Christian D. Larson – this reminds me of Janet!

    “Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
    to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”

  3. The waiting is hard, but it is so worthwhile to be there, and to have been there. Meditate, breathe deep, sing, recite poetry, tell stories, reminisce. My hospice friend who sat with me through Jerry’s passage asked me, “Have you told him everything you need to, because he CAN still hear you.” Which may or may not be true, but it’s certainly therapeutic for you!
    Much love,
    Jennie

  4. David and Janet too. This is the Janet I know. I’ve not seen you both since your Marmaris days and this is the Janet I will always know. She is beautiful, strong, full of positive character and funny. You both are in my prayers and in the prayers of my family.
